A few weeks back, I finally watched a documentary that I had heard a lot about: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, where Joe Cross has us follow him on a journey to improve his overall health through a juicing diet for 90 days (while being monitored by a healthcare provider). The documentary is amazing and inspirational! I definitely recommend watching it (you can currently watch it for free, using the link above).
After watching that documentary, I was set on getting myself a juicer and adding the fabulousness of green juices to my life. So, after a lot of research, I went for the Breville Juice Fountain Plus, and captured my VERY FIRST juicing experience below :].
I decided to make the “Mean Green Juice ” recipe from the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary, which contains:
- 1 cucumber
- 4 celery stalks
- 1/2 a lemon (peeled – citrus peels can actually be pretty harsh on your stomach because of the essential oils they contain – to learn more click here)
- 6-8 leaves of kale
- 2 apples (I used Gala)
- 1 tbspn of Ginger (I used about an inch of peeled ginger)
This juice was delicious! And honestly, it is unbelievable how you literally get an instant boost of energy. It’s amazing :] I am so excited to have added juicing to my life and will continue to share some new recipes as I experiment :]
In good health,
